Montreal-based JJJJound continues its run of collaborative footwear with a new release alongside Solovair, reinterpreting the Gibson, a classic English work shoe, in two iterations. The capsule sets natural beige suede against black hardware and sole in one pair, and holds a single tone throughout in black gaucho grain leather in the other, extending JJJJound1s restrained design language onto a shoe built for durability over trend.

Solovair is produced by NPS Shoes, founded in 1881 as a workers cooperative in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, where the factory has made footwear ever since. Like the rest of the Solovair range, the Gibson is Goodyear welted, a construction method that allows the sole to be replaced rather than the shoe discarded, a shared point of emphasis on longevity between the two brands.

For this release, JJJJound retained the Gibson's original last and soft suspension sole, limiting its input to material and color. Branding is reduced to a single debossed logo on the tongue, and both pairs are lined in undyed russet leather.

The JJJJound Solovair Gibson launches September 24th at 9 AM EST on JJJJound.com.
